Dance Mission:

M.S. 131 Dance Education’s Program is dedicated to developing dancers that are interested in pursuing dance on a professional level.  The dance curriculum is designed to create strong technical dancers where skill and confidence are acquired along with a passion for the performing arts. Students grow as professional dance artists, critical thinkers, choreographers, teachers, leaders, and individuals. Literacy and technology is used to research and create dance. M.S. 131’s dance curriculum is aligned with the New York City Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts, the Common Core Standards, and Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching.
